Vuk

Vuk and Uncle Karak from the Hungarian animated film "Vuk." It's sort of like Bambi with foxes, though it reminded me of Kimba the White Lion too. I thought it was interesting; one on hand it's very much a little kid movie, but it's almost unself-consciously dark in some parts, and is quite matter-of-fact about the fox characters killing and eating cartoon animals. (Apparently the American VHS version edited nearly ten minutes of the killing/cursing out, but I saw the original Hungarian version with English subs. Also, it changed Vuk to Vic, apparently because it sounded too much like the f-word...I'd have thought it was pronounced "Vook," like the Croatian word for "wolf.")
